Okay, so statistically speaking, most people throw their New Year's resolution out the window by two weeks in...

FRET NOT! Because if starting a new sport was yours, listen up!

Getting involved in a group, club or team is sometimes the best way to stick at a new hobby. You might have heard that there are loads of sports taster sessions to get involved with at the SU! Let's unpack...

1. Sick of shooting your shot at pointless targets? Archery could steer you on the right course...

Head over to the sports centre on Mondays between 4-6pm to have a go at Archery!

If you've been feeling burnt out, it could help you get focused, and it's so satisfying when you hit your target.

Plus, you never know when you're going to need to use a bow and arrow (I'm thinking apocolypse-type situation here...)

2. What's better than Frisbee? I present: Ultimate Frisbee

If you're free on Friday at 6-7pm and it sounds like your bag, try Ultimate Frisbee!

An excellent cardio workout, blow off some steam and get involved.

My personal favourite thing is that this sport is non-contact (well, unless the frisbee slaps you round the face).

3. Love football but hate being tackled to the ground? Flag Football is where it's at.

OK. You want to get involved with a sports team, but you're always busy during the week... I got you. The Flag Football team's taster session is on Sunday 12-2pm!

Flag Football is a variant of gridiron football, where players can't tackle opponents but instead remove their flag, to end a down.

Commence sweaty sundays.

4. QUICK STICKS! Ever thought about Volleyball?

Volleyball is a super fun, fast-paced sport.

Plus, it's a great way to get involved with a team and get your brain thinking strategy.

It's a full body workout! If you're about Tuesdays 7-8pm, give it a shot!

5. Been waiting for your Troy Bolton moment? Women's Basketball is literally there.

The Women's Basketball team meet in the Sport's Hall from 8-9pm every Friday, and it's the perfect way to let out your inner Wild Cat.

Think you've got what it takes (or... you're just bored 8-9pm every Friday), try it out!

No pressure but, at the SU, if we didn't at least try to hold you to your resolutions, we wouldn't be doing our job.

Whether you go to all the sessions, or just one, pat yourself on the back for trying!
