For those with a more competitive edge but would like to stay local, we have our intramural and campus leagues!
Salford SU 6-a-side
Every Friday on our 3G, 20 teams take to the pitch to compete in not 1 but 2 leagues! Decided by pre-season round robins, our teams compete for glory and gold (well, gold plated) in 45 minute games between 5-10pm and officiated by Manchester FA accredited referees. To register your team for the round robins and a chance to join our leagues, please email su-sport@salford.ac.uk with the subject “6-a-side league”. We only have a few places left for the 24/25 season and it’s first come first served. This league is strictly for current Salford students only and you must have the details of 6 players in order to be registered.
We also have joined up with 4 other Manchester universities to give you even more ways to compete. These teams are decided by our clubs so get in touch with them for your chance to compete. You must attend their trials in order to be selected for the team.
11-a-side Football
Currently 2 times division champions and Manchester Universities Cup Champions, our men’s 3rd football team competes every Wednesday at Wythenshawe or Armitage from 2pm. Due to popular demand, we are also adding a 4th team into the ranks.
Netball
Our Netball 3rds team are changing things up this year for a chance at more competition by joining the Manchester Campus League every Tuesday night from 6-10pm.
Badminton
The Sunday Badminton league is open for 3 pairs to compete in singles and doubles games from 3-5pm.
Basketball
The Sunday Basketball league sees our men’s 3rd team compete between 5-7pm.
